The plague of fear is a huge epidemic that stops people daily from reaching their goals and dreams. Whether it’s fear of failure, success, or anything in between, you need a step-by-step method to break free from this nasty demon. I’m going to cover some of the most common fears and give you the steps to breakthrough them for a lifetime.

The following fears apply to business and life in general. None of us are immune to these fears but we have the ability to not be controlled by them. The most common fears are fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of humiliation or looking bad and fear of making mistakes.

Decision, commitment and action are your best tools for overcoming fear. Decide what you are going to do, commit to doing it consistently and take immediate action. Where there is no commitment, fear and doubt set in.

I decided that Direct Marketing was my chosen profession and that I would do what it takes to get good at it. I had the same faith of a medical student who knows that he won’t see a patient solo for 8 to 10 years. The doctor knows that if he commits to developing the skill every day that he will eventually master his craft and own a practice earning a professional income. Making up my mind that there was no turning back, I burned the bridges of doubt and fear. Within 2 years I was earning as much or more than most doctors. You can apply these exact same steps to overcome fear and reach your full potential in your chosen profession too!

Here are 7 steps to overcome fear:

  1. Doubt – don’t open the door or make an agreement with it. Make a decision whether you are going to agree with faith or agree with doubt.
  2. Be 100% committed. Commitment destroys fear and doubt. Stay with your plan and fight through adversity.
  3. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals, people with vision and dreams who are awake and stirred to do great things.
  4. Keep yourself moving forward in action mode. Lack of action creates idleness which opens the door to fear.
  5. Stay involved by plugging into tools that increase your skills and feed your belief system. Listen to conference calls and CD’s, attend seminars. Protect and feed the growth that you are experiencing.
  6. Practice your core skill sets daily. Focus on your highest and best use of time, the activity that gets you the greatest results. If you’re in any kind of sales profession, that means spending most of your time attracting (advertising and interviewing) and talking (presenting) to new prospects.
  7. Make the decision to never quit. Once quitting is not an option, there is no room for fear.

You can’t afford to live in fear. The future of our families and our nation are relying on you stepping up to your potential, taking action and building a future. Get the skill you need to get more and do more and you will fear nothing.

I have been an over the road truck driver for the last 12 years making a very good income but no time with my family or time to build my business so I looked for something I could do off the road for an income that I am used to making and time to build my business I chose to go into insurance which will also give me the opportunity to meet more people and practice what I have learned from Dani. This is where I found my biggest fear that is studying for a license in something I know nothing about I’m getting frustrated with the study course wondering if I made the right choice and just like always Dani puts something out there that I really needed Overcoming fear Just reading this made me feel better now all I have to do is follow threw with the 7 steps and become successful. Thanks Dani I really needed this.

    • Wally keep your head up and your family in your vision. You have made a decision for yourself and your family that will better EVERYONES life!! You have already made the hard decision- doing it! So stay focused, keep the love in your heart, the fear in your trail of dust and faith in your pocket. Best of luck on that exam!

  9. Joy Randall says:

I used to live in fear and doubt in EVERY area of my life! I lived each day in fear of something bad might happen and doubting my own ability to succeed.

I plugged in the Spirit Driven Success CDs and attended multiple live events, applied the 7 steps (one at a time!), and my life has radically changed! For me, step 7 – DECIDING to NEVER quit has unlocked the door to meet my goals and allow me to pay of a quarter of a million dollars in debt, restore family relationships, open doors to avancement in a down economy, and for the first time, be in a position to help others who are in need.

  10. DH HARVEY says:

Your tips are wonderful-as always! Regards to Hans!

  11. Dani,

I was recently introduced to your training and have received a new lease on my network marketing life. You have provided me with the kind of inspiration that nothing else I’ve been exposed to has. I want to thank you for your genuine and heartfelt teaching and will send all my new recruits to you.

I had all but given up network marketing as a viable option for me. Since listening to the North Carolina CDs and some of your training calls I’ve become engaged again in the industry.

For the first time, I’m doing and seeing things differently. I no longer feel the same degree of uncertainty and anxiety that I did before. There is no substitute for personal skill development.

I’m looking forward to attending your “First Steps To Success” training and receiving your new book (I’ve already pre-ordered). The old saying that ‘when the student is ready the teacher will appear’ has never been truer in my case–you came along.

Thank you and God Bless you and your family.

    All the best!

    Willie

  13. Teresa Halsell says:

    Hey Dani,

I just spent the weekend with you and Hans and your team along with a lot of others receiving the training of a lifetime in Orlando FL at Creating a Dynasty. Since coming back from the event, in two days, I have accomplished a few goals that I had thought about, pondered, worrried and alternately struggled and then lost courage about for the last 6 months. Today those goals are 99.9% complete. This is thanks to God and you for the wonderful training and encouragement to “Take action.” And, just as you said in the seventh step above, deciding to never quit puts out the fire of fear. Going forward, I, too, plan to become one of the thousands of success stories from First Steps and Creating a Dynasty. May God bless you and Hans and your family, both the children and the Dani Johnson Team, for the sacrifice you are making for us.

    your friend,

    Teresa

I enjoyed reading the 7 steps to overcoming fear. Obsolutely right, I think we should post them at home and at the office to be reminded always.
I am writing from Beirut, Lebanon. It is a dream of mine to be able to attend one of your seminars. I have watched your demos and I think you are an inspiration.
I might be visiting the US in May or June. I was wondering if you will be near the area of st. Paul at that time.

    God bless you-johan abi faraj(MRS.)

  15. Ileana Castellanos says:

Hi Dani and Hans, seasons greetings and blessings over you and your house. Thanks for all the free tips and downloads that you share with us, the ones still at the foot of the hill looking up. I want to share something with you: 2 years ago I read the book The Secret and inmediately I was taken by it, I was going to conquer the world!. But then I realized that I did not want to be the riches woman in the world, I wanted to re-conect with God and let Him bless me His way. So I did and also I have learned that it is ok with Him for me to have riches and glory. ( Psalm 35:27) So I`m letting Him work in me first and make me a new person from the inside out. Meanwile, I`m jumping in your wagon and letting you take me as far as I can go, and as I begin to prosper financially, I promise to get as many of your resourses as possible for me and my entire house. so Dani and Hans you will always be in my heart. From Puerto Rico with love. I.C.

  16. Charles Graham says:

    Hi Dani,

The 7 steps that you have laid out are spot on and I think just about everyone has experienced one or more of them. What I like is your solutions are so simple that anyone can very easily over-come fear and break through by being proactive.

    Thanks again,

    Charles

  17. Dale Evans says:

The one thing that is a constant in all of your messages is that you have to keep focused on the solution and not the problem. Fear can lock up one’s life. All you have to do is get outside of yourself and focus on courage. Thanks for the reminders that we are what we focus on. I have been listening to your calls at Dani Johnson.com for the past week (just found you), and I can honestly say that your message resonates with me and has caused me to take action through some fear points that I have struggled with for years.

  18. Jackie Hall says:

    Dani,
You are truely a wonderful person, inside and out. I had the great opportunity of seeing you at First Steps to Success in Orlando, FL.

  19. Hi Dani,

I so agree with your 7 steps. I am in a difficult spot in my life right now. Fear and doubt try to creep in to distract me from what God has called me to do. Persistence, patience and focus have helped me to combat fear and doubt, but what has really worked is trusting in God to take charge of my life. Let go and let God!

I so enjoy all of your teachings especially your CD’s and book on Spirit Driven Success. Thank you!

  20. Ying says:

All this time I thought fear was the root cause but it may as well be lack of love, the love sourced from God as it says in 1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives our fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”

Dani, I admire you a great deal.

  21. This was exactly what i needed to hear to keep moving forward. Most great battles must be fought within your own mind and fear is one of the major obstacles people struggle with on a daily basis.
    Thank you. Dani.

  22. Earth-G says:

  23. Joel says:

Fear leads to procrastination. Procrastination leads to failure. Failure leads to regrets. Do you want to live your life with regrets or happyness?

  24. Kathy Allen says:

GREAT Wisdom as always, Dani – if 98% of the population would embrace this advice we could see the 98% join the 2%!!!!! And also, think of the impact this wisdom would have in blessing our kids!! Thanks so much for all you do, Dani – and thanks for taking the time to share!!! God Bless!!

  25. Maria Villaroel says:
