There are times in every parent’s life when their children (including adult children) disappoint them in some way. It could be a failing grade, an irresponsible decision, a choice they’ve made for their family, or any number of other things. So how do you respond to those disappointments? When my kids disappointment me? When I was in the Army I was like a Drill Sergeant when they disappointed me. But God got a hold of my heart and over the last few years I have learned to be more understanding and be firm with them. I now ask why they did the thing they did that disappointed my wife and I. We now talk about how the choice could have been better or the action should have been done a better way. All of us now are learning from each other and we now talk over decisions they are thinking before they put into action. We ask if they have prayed about the decision or just on impulse. Life is better since I retired with 21 years of the Army. It is time to give back to family for the rest of my life.

I think children are blank pages,,,,,,,,,,,,, we are responsible for charging the things that leave only footprints positive in their memory.,,,,,, love the fact life, why not make love to our children?,,,,,,,,, a question, funny and ridiculous, we must live in reality with the kids to let them live in the real realism.
Listening from Lynn, MA….Great show! My boys are 11 & 9 and disappoint me when they don’t do what I ask…i.e. bringing their dishes out to the sink when they are done eating! UGH!!!!
