Today I want to provide some encouragement if you work from home or hope to start your own business. One of the biggest stumbling blocks standing between you and success could be a simple lack of confidence to really get things moving forward. If so, now’s the time to listen up!
One major thing that holds so many people back from success is overcoming that fear of just picking up the phone and making a call! Either you’re completely tongue-tied with not a clue about what to say, or worse, terrified of sounding like “Peggy” the telemarketer!
Believe it or not, you’re not alone and so few people truly understand the skills involved in properly prospecting new clients for their business and knowing how to actually close the deal. Are you letting issues with your confidence (or lack thereof) stand between you and a successful business? Are you allowing a simple phone call to separate you from success?
You can be a master at controlling any sales conversation!
Are you unsure of what to say or how to say it when talking to a new business prospect? While it may seem like an intimidating process to you, it is a skillset, just like any others you have learned. Learn how to take your prospecting and closing skills from 0 to 60 with an easy-to-understand guide that shows you how to lead your sales prospects into closing themselves!
I really do know how you feel! When I started a business out of the trunk of my car, I had no clue what to say. So you know what I did? First thing, I called a competing weight-loss sales representative.
Then you know what happened? I took notes! Lots of them! I wrote down everything the person on the other end of the line said and I made myself a script.
One of the top fears people have is reaching out on the phone to make that initial sales call. They either don’t know how to start, are afraid of getting stuck, can’t gather up the enthusiasm again and again after a rejection and have no idea how to deal with objections or somebody just brushing them off.
It just seems easier for these folks to save themselves the trouble and never pick up the phone to begin with! After all, who wants to try to engage a prospect who’s just not interested? Who wants to keep dialing when all you get is one rejection after another? How can you keep psyching yourself up for the sale that never seems to come?
Guess what… there’s one simple, no-fail solution. All you have to do is write it down! There are so many ways to create an easy-to-read script for yourself. And, if you aren’t sure where to start, I’ve already done the work for you!
You can quickly and easily study one of the hundreds of successful scripts I’ve developed and used — along with thousands of other folks — which can be tailored specifically to your business needs. Every successful business person understands the value and need for scripts!
If you need something even more specific or are unsure how to answer certain industry-specific questions, pick up the phone and make a call! See how others in your business answer the question and make a note of their response. The key is taking all the guesswork out of your prospecting and closing.
Save yourself the stress; eliminate this major time suck; take your business out of neutral and start moving forward! Don’t let one, simple phone call become your excuse for failure, when success is just one script away. Let me know your biggest sales prospecting fear below and perform a service for the professionals in your network by sharing this on your social media!
And, while you’re writing down your personal script, write this down too: Tomorrow night is the Spiritual Equipping Broadcast at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT, so I’ll be looking forward to sharing this time via TV, radio, smartphone or computer!
In great faith,
