You don’t need a calendar to tell you what time of year it is… orange and black, along with the obligatory pumpkins, are everywhere you turn. Once again, it’s time to brace yourself for the marketing onslaught of Halloween. And, if you happen to have little people in your life, the annual costume financial extravaganza! Did you realize the American public spends BILLIONS of dollars every year for Halloween? It’s second only to Christmas in annual holiday retail sales. Yet, the roots of this “holiday” can be rather murky (even the word holiday originates from the Christian concept of “Holy Day”) and we ALL know that Halloween is anything but holy!
And while it may all seem like a little bit of innocent fun, are you sacrificing your beliefs (and finances!) simply for the sake of following the masses down the “Trick-or-Treat” trail?
