Epic Fails Can Lead To Extraordinary Successes!
You ARE going to make mistakes, fail and sometimes lose, all because of your decisions. So here’s how to use those mistakes to STOP losing – and start winning.
Today, let’s take a trip down memory lane. Do you remember a particular class in school that just seemed so pointless? Or maybe in a job training, where you sat there thinking, “This is so dumb! It’s just common sense! I don’t even need to be here!”
Once your brain decides you know everything, it tends to turn off. C’mon, you KNOW it’s true! Everything you hear after that, is just “Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.”
At our live First Steps To Success events, I see people tune-out from time to time. I touch-on an area they don’t think needs improvement, so they just sort of zone out… thinking it’s just common sense or something irrelevant in their life.
Or even worse, they reach a point where they think my lack of education, my beliefs or my gender, means I no longer have any relevant knowledge to share!
The problem with this mentality? You inhibit your own growth! When you think you already “know everything,” you will never learn anything.
Unfortunately, this mindset basically makes you unteachable – and when you’re unteachable, you frustrate yourself and others.
I promise you, your employer or your clients are definitely frustrated with you, if you have this attitude. And I guarantee your business is – or soon will be – stagnant or in decline.
See, if you fail to constantly grow, learn and add to your skill sets, you’re not going anywhere.
Listen friend, you need to weigh your ego against your bank account. Everybody has made this mistake; everyone, at some point, thought they knew-it-all or some lesson didn’t relate to their life. But what matters more – your success or your ego?
And you can find the proof in your results. If your bank account looks sickly, that’s a pretty good indication your ego is filled to the brim. If your relationships don’t sizzle, it probably means your ego is sun-bathing on the beach, having a good ol’ time. Do you hear what I’m saying?
If you want to grow, if you want to make more money, have better relationships, get promoted – never stop being teachable.
The people who continue to do better, are the people who constantly add new skill sets and are always learning.
So, my question for you today is: Are you still learning or have you become unteachable? Let me know your answer in the comments below! And let’s take it a step further… share HOW you stay teachable every day! I can’t wait to read what you have to say!

It’s time to position yourself to RECEIVE, simply because you have been faithful with what you have been given. Avoid the painful correction I experienced, as one who was NOT faithful!
