WOW… 2016 was one wild ride! And, just like that, it’s already 2017! I am so excited for everything this New Year will bring, for us both.
I’m excited to watch you reach outrageous new levels of success this year. Did you catch that? I really do believe in you and can’t wait to watch your family, your team, your staff and your clients succeed this year!
Whether you already have goals and plans for 2017 – or not – God has something to say about this next year of your life. He honestly cares about your plans and wants you to succeed. Not only does He want you to succeed, but He tells you exactly HOW!
Start Your New Year RIGHT!
It’s a brand new year – which means it’s time to start working toward your goals for 2017! Outrageous success is waiting for you…
so don’t put it off for even one more day!
And God has a LOT to say about your 2017 plans… but I just want to share these three things with you, right now:
- Commit your works to the Lord. “Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will be established.” (Proverbs 16:3) MAN! It doesn’t get much simpler! Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will succeed. You have goals and plans: you want to pay off your debt, start a business, grow your existing business, get a new job, get promoted, take a long-awaited vacation, feed a thousand orphans this year, or even, to have more time with your family. Commit these things to the Lord! Commit your work to the Lord and He will help you to reach ALL your goals.
- Seek wise counsel. “Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed.” (Proverbs 15:22) In 2017, you need to surround yourself with people who will speak honestly into your life. You must have people you can call and say, “Hey, this is what I’m thinking about. This is what I’d like to do. This is what God is doing in my life. Would you pray with – and for – me about this?” Give those people the freedom to tell you exactly what they think, whether they agree with you or not. These people play the critical role of wise counsel… and without it, your plans will be frustrated. But, as it says in Proverbs 15:22, with many counselors, your plans WILL succeed. If you don’t have people in your life who will hold you accountable, speak positive life and give you guidance, ask God for them! Back in 2000, we moved out of the city and up into the mountains. I asked the Lord to send me a new friend. I asked for someone who wouldn’t need anything from me, but someone who would allow us to be mutually encouraging with each other. I asked for someone who wouldn’t be afraid to speak into my life and hold me accountable. After only a couple of months, God sent me exactly the friend I asked for. We held each other accountable and spoke freely into each other’s lives. She is one of my dearest friends and still one of those wise counselors in my life. It’s very clear – God wants you to have people in your life, to speak wisdom and help you accomplish your goals. Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed.
- Work diligently. “The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, but everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty.” (Proverbs 21:5) Are you diligent? Are you diligent with your spouse… your kids… at work? How about with your health and relationships? The plans of the diligent will lead surely to advantage. Who gets promoted in their jobs? Those who work diligently! Who attracts more business clients? Those who work diligently! Who has thriving, healthy marriages and families? That’s right, the diligent! If you become hasty, forget to care about doing a great job, you will lead yourself into poverty. So this year, God is telling you to work diligently… and you will succeed.
I want to see your marriage and children blessed abundantly. I want to see your business grow. I want to see you get outrageous bonuses, raises and promotions at work. I want to see you become totally financially-independent.
I can’t wait to hear your story – exactly one year from today – when you tell me about your 2017 triumphs and victories. Yes, THAT’S how much I believe in you!
