Have you ever had one of those days that started out great, but by mid-morning, you just feel like going back to bed? (Or maybe your day started out that way!) You know, those days when you feel like everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong? There’s drama in the family… you can’t seem to agree with your spouse on anything… and your kids are whining, complaining and just will not obey.
Maybe you’ve got deadlines coming up at work, and your boss is demanding more than you can get done. Maybe you bombed a presentation with a potential client. Maybe you just feel like you’ve been a few steps behind all day. You’re surrounded by negativity and your emotions run wild.
I’ve had those days. We ALL have. Who knows, today could be one! But I want to make sure you know how to handle these days, because a breakthrough could be waiting on the other side of your “bad day.”

Think about it – have you ever been in the middle of one of those days, and you come to an appointment or a task you must get done, but you’re just “not feeling it.” You want to back out and say, “Nope, not doing it!” But how many times has this stopped you from doing something that could potentially produce major results, whether it was for your business, at work, or in your family?
Because of your reaction to the bad things popping up on your otherwise good day, you’ve let nonsensical things get you off track. Because of your emotions, along with the small stuff chipping away at you throughout the day, you may want to pull out of an activity or task you really need to do.
You’ve got to eliminate all the ridiculous things stealing your focus. And, emotions are one of those things.
We don’t often think about the effect our emotions have on our lives. Instead, we just take them as they come. We let the stress, frustration and anger throw our emotions all out of whack, and soon enough, we’re “having a bad day.”
But consider this… those days that don’t turn out quite like you expected, actually set you up for something so much greater. Those mishaps, disappointments, arguments, curveballs, all provide a perfect setup for breakthrough!
You have to remember feelings and emotions often lie. And YOU control them; they do NOT control you!
When you choose to not waste your time on trivial emotions, and you stop reacting to the curveballs thrown your way, you set yourself up to solve the problem… instead of reacting to it. When you don’t get tangled in fear, frustration or stress, and instead, you focus on finding solutions, you will break through to a new level.
Some of my biggest breakthroughs have come after I pushed through these seemingly horrible days, by sucking it up and doing the things I didn’t want to do. When I chose to focus on what’s going right, instead of what’s going wrong – when I chose to focus on what I can do instead of what I can’t do – those are the times of the biggest breakthroughs in my life!
So today I encourage you to push through! Don’t let those “bad things” knock you down and turn your good, productive day into a “bad day.” Focus on pushing past those things trying to hold you back. Focus on getting results.
So often, the times we decide to push through are the times we grow the most. Those are the times that refine us and shape our character. But we cannot grow, if we allow our emotions to govern our thoughts, words and actions.
I hope this helps you today. I hope next time you’re having “one of those days,” you will pull this out and remind yourself today does not have to be a “bad day.” Today is setting you up for massive breakthrough in your business, career, relationships and personal life!
