No one has ever won a war fighting alone. In order to win any battle, it is important to have the proper tools and an army of people who are on your side. The same holds true when fighting a WAR ON DEBT. When you surround yourself with others who are working toward a common goal, the chances of realizing that goal are greatly improved. This is one of the reasons support groups are so successful.

The Importance of Support

Support groups bring together people who are going through or have gone through similar experiences. They provide an opportunity for group members to share personal experiences and feelings, coping strategies, or firsthand information about a specific topic, like paying off debt and strategies for saving (and keeping) money.

Imagine what could happen if you surround yourself with others who also want to fight a WAR ON DEBT. Henry Ford might have said it best: “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”

It’s easy to create your own WAR ON DEBT support group.

  1. Click here to purchase the complete WAR ON DEBT program.
  2. Recruit others to join your WAR ON DEBT group. This could be friends from your neighborhood, church, school, book club, Bible Study, etc.
  3. Decide on a day, time, and place for your weekly group meeting. Because there is a video portion to the program, you’ll need access to a TV, large monitor, or a screen to view the videos
  4. To offset any costs, you can ask each group member to contribute to the cost of the WAR ON DEBT curriculum or printing of the worksheets (you choose the amount). This will also help with group accountability. Studies show that group members are more likely to attend on a regular basis if they have a personal investment in the group.
  5. Each group member will also need a copy of FIRST STEPS TO WEALTH. This book is free-of-charge – they’ll just need to pay the shipping. You can order this book by clicking here.
  6. Set up a private Facebook page for your group where you can share your wins, post important group info, etc.

Benefits of a WAR ON DEBT Group

The common experience among members often means they have similar feelings, worries, or common problems they are working to solve. Participating in a group provides you with an opportunity to be with people who are likely to have a common purpose and likely to understand one another.

Benefits of participating in a support group may include:

  • Feeling less lonely, isolated or judged
  • Reducing distress, depression, anxiety or fatigue
  • Talking openly and honestly about your feelings
  • Improving skills to cope with challenges
  • Staying motivated to stay on task and move forward
  • Gaining a sense of empowerment, control or hope
  • Getting practical feedback from others in your group
  • Learning about economic or social resources

It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we work together. Here’s to your success and becoming debt-free!
