Is Fear Directing Your Finances?
If you are afraid of losing something – business, relationships, money, your job – you are looking in the wrong direction.Your focus is in the wrong place.
Good morning! Do you OWN your work? It seems like a simple question, but you wouldn’t believe the number of people who go to a job, day-in and day-out, without taking any ownership in the work they produce.
If you have no pride or ownership in the company you work for, your work WILL reflect it. And even worse, you probably blame it on someone else: “I can’t do my best work because…”
So let me introduce you to an incredibly simple mindset today… because taking ownership could have a huge impact on your career. If you’re the kind of employee who just goes through the motions, only completes the bare minimum and blames your manager, the environment or economy for the quality of your work… listen up!
This becomes increasingly critical, if you’re the owner. When the team fails, the ultimate responsibility is yours… end of discussion. Sometimes business owners are the MOST apt to shift blame! I hear it all the time, “It’s the economy” or “I didn’t have the right team to make it happen.”
There’s no way around it… it IS about you. You may simply lack the specific knowledge or proper skill sets to succeed in certain, particular circumstances.
Maybe you lack strong people skills, leadership skills, the right time management skills or even new technical skills, to get the job done. You’ve got to face the truth – and while taking blame may momentarily hurt your ego – it will help your leadership skills and your career growth, in the long run.
True leadership comes from figuring out what works, accepting the fact something doesn’t work and then equipping yourself with a better way to do things. As long as you give-in to your ego and shift the blame onto some one – or thing – else, you stunt your own growth.
Next time you walk into work, regardless of your position or title, I want you to pretend you own the company. If you were the owner and 100% dependent on it for your livelihood, what would you do differently? Would the work you produce look different? Would you allow little excuses to result in low-quality work?
I promise, this simple mindset shift will change your perspective… and the quality of your work. This ONE change will set you up for a huge promotion in your career!
Do you consistently take ownership of your work? Tell me how! If not, tell me how you’re going to start! I can’t wait to read your comments below!

Have you ever felt the sting of rejection? People have said critical words about you, made you feel unaccepted. Then the next thing you know, you begin to reject yourself!
In the Bible, you can see multiple examples of people who had an amazing vision and fulfilled the Lord’s destiny, along with examples of a few people who had no vision, or completely self-centered visions, and how it destroyed their lives.
