Don’t Let Your Child Settle For Mediocrity

I know lately I have been sharing with you all how this world lacks good leaders. And that we the people need to take responsibility for ourselves.Yes, true leadership is taking responsibility and just simply moving forward. But I want to make sure I let you in on the most important place to show and teach leadership, with the next generation.

Whether or not you are a parent you likely have some interaction with children or even teens. To me there is nothing more important than sowing leadership into our kids, and sowing success.

A while back on the radio show we talked about how the Florida Department of Education lowered the performance standards on writing exams after only 27% of 4th graders passed the test. Already our government and the school systems are teaching younger generations to settle for mediocrity.

Your children are being groomed to settle. They are being taught not to try to be better, not to further their skills. They are being set up to be let down by their dreams.

I’m going to stop here before it sounds like I’m trying to place blame somewhere. The truth is, as parents, teachers, mentors and leaders, you shouldn’t be counting on the school or the government. When it comes to teaching and showing them leadership, that is your responsibility. When it comes to setting dreams and attaining them, the burden is yours.

I am telling you the government is not "all in" for your children’s success. They will gladly watch your children settle for a life of mediocrity, riddled with debt, and congratulate them for attaining the "dream". But it isn’t the government’s job to have your child’s future in mind! It is your job!

And for those who aren’t parents, if you are looking for better leadership in the world, look to the next generation. Your friends and neighbors children need strong and righteous role models.

So this year don’t just try to improve your leadership skills in your business by only sowing into your managers and employees. Make sure you are sowing seeds at home as well. Take responsibility for your child’s future and groom them to pass up mediocrity without a second glance!

If you know any teachers or parents, you need to share this post with them now. The people who groom and raise our next generation need the encouragement! Please share on Facebook and Twitter as well!

Until next time, God bless!

In great faith,
