Promote Diligence In Yourself To Get Yourself Promoted
Maybe turning that attitude of annoyance into an attitude of gratitude could be the first step toward finding career satisfaction and success.
When facing hardships, I ALWAYS check out how OTHERS successfully got through their obstacles…finding someone who has gone through what I’m facing, to act as a guide & provide living proof there IS a way past!
Have you ever felt hopeless? Feel like things will never get better, there’s no point in trying or you’re trapped in a situation? Some people become hopeless about their career, their marriage and some, most disheartening of all, lose hope in life altogether.
“My sorrow is beyond healing, my heart is faint within me!” (Jeremiah 8:18) It hurts, and trust me, I know it’s so easy to just give up, right? Sure, people always say “Never stop fighting”… “Roll with the punches”… “Gotta get back on the horse.” But these clichés never tell you HOW!
You see, you have to have a strategy to get through those hard times. If you don’t, you will find yourself overwhelmed, and sometimes, even hopeless.
As a businesswoman, mother of 5 and grandmother of 7 (soon to be 8!), I learned a long time ago, if you want success, you gotta do what successful people do. Find someone who has what you want, and do what they do. Likewise, when it comes to hardships, I always, ALWAYS check out how OTHER people successfully got through similar obstacles.
When you find someone who has gone through what you’re going through, they not only act as a guide, but provide living proof there IS a way past your current circumstances!
Whenever I’m having a hard time, I specifically look to King David in the Bible. He was a ruler, a political leader, a military commander, a profitable businessman, a songwriter. He was a very successful man, even by today’s standards. But, oh boy, he went through some seriously rough times.
David endured major life challenges. King Saul tormented him, was jealous of him and even tried to kill him! All this fell on him, despite the fact David served King Saul faithfully!
And when I read about David, he always did exactly the same thing in those hard times. He cried out to his Lord, his strong tower, his safe place, and his ever-present HELP in time of need. “Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal them; and I will reveal to them an abundance of peace and truth.” (Jeremiah 33:6)
I’ve been abandoned, betrayed, embezzled from, left-for-broke, lied about and hurt. But whenever I go through storms, I do what David did.
Who in your life can you use as an example? Follow their steps to make it through! So many before you have experienced similar challenges and that feeling of hopelessness. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. You can talk about it on Facebook and Twitter and leave your feedback for me below, telling me whose strategy you follow.
