This week, we’ve been talking about winning – what to do when you fail or make mistakes – and how to turn that loss into a BIG win – and even about the mindset of a winner.
Let’s continue our “winning streak” with three practical biblical strategies for winning every day.
These strategies will help you reach a whole new level of success and equip you to WIN BIG! And, great news, it’s not ALL on your shoulders! By partnering with God, you WILL come out victorious. The bottom line is, He wants you to succeed. He wants you to WIN! And He will help you do it!
Are YOU A Winner?
God designed you to win. Yes, YOU! But, have you been trained or equipped to win? If your expectation of victory doesn’t quite match up with your reality, it’s time to discover some biblical strategies to put you on
the fast track to real victory!
- Commit your works to the Lord
“Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will be established.” (Proverbs 16:3)
Wow! It doesn’t get much simpler than that! You have goals and plans – you want to pay off your debt, start a business, grow your existing business, get a new job, get promoted at work, go on a long-awaited vacation, feed a thousand orphans this year, or even, spend more time with your family. Your first step is to commit your works to the Lord, and then your plans WILL succeed! This should be a daily practice! First thing in the morning, commit your plans, your goals, your agenda, your thoughts, your works to HIM! Decide to walk with Him, listen to Him and honor Him, in everything you do each day. This positions you as a winner!
- Seek wise counsel
“Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed.” (Proverbs 15:22)
You must surround yourself with people who will speak life into you. Have people in your life with more experience and expertise in different areas. You must have people you can call and say, “Hey, this is what I’m thinking about. This is what I’d like to do. This is what God is doing in my life. Would you pray with me, and for me, about this?” And give those people the freedom to tell you exactly what they think, whether they agree with you or not! Back in 2000, we moved out of the city and up into the California mountains, and I asked the Lord to send me a new friend. I asked for someone who wouldn’t need anything from me, but someone who would allow us to be mutually-encouraging toward each other. I asked for someone who wouldn’t be afraid to speak into my life and hold me accountable. After only a couple of months, God sent me exactly the kind of friend I asked for. We held each other accountable and spoke freely into each other’s lives. She is one of my dearest friends and still one of those wise counselors in my life. If you don’t have people in your life who will hold you accountable, speak positive life and give you guidance, ask God for them! Think about it! Every athlete has a coach. Actually, they most likely have many coaches! They have someone helping them to improve their skills and make them a better athlete. They have someone on their side, guiding them and pushing them to win. You MUST have those people in your life!
- Work diligently
“The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, but everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty.” (Proverbs 21:5)
The plans of the diligent will lead surely to advantage. Who are the ones who get promoted in their jobs? Those who work diligently. Who attracts more clients into their businesses? Those who work diligently. Who has amazing, healthy marriages and families? Those who are diligent. If you are hasty, neglecting to do a great job, you will lead yourself into poverty. If you want to win, you must be diligent!
Are you ready to take your success – your future – into your own hands? Are you ready to step into the destiny God has created specifically for you? Are you ready to come into your destiny – your destiny as a winner? When you follow these three simple steps, you will position yourself for victory in your life… every day and in every way.
Remember, God WANTS you to succeed! He DESIGNED you to WIN! Regardless of your background or your personality, you were designed and destined to live a victorious life!
