The 7 People You Meet At Thanksgiving & How To Deal With Them
Holidays can be “interesting.” They bring out the best in people…or the worst. But regardless of who you encounter, a few simple steps can bring the joy back into your holidays!
Do you have any enemies in your life? Any struggles you consistently face? Any hardships chasing you down, no matter how far you run? Are there any challenges you’ve overcome before, yet they still creep back into your life when you least expect it?
Today we’re going to tackle these issues, and you will discover how to defeat the enemies in your life – once and for all!
Today, let’s talk about David… but we’re going to skip ahead to the point after he defeated Goliath. You see, Goliath was just one piece of a much bigger puzzle that was the picture of David’s life. Goliath was his first victory, but it was certainly not his last victory against the Philistines.
“Then David inquired of the Lord, saying, ‘Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You give them into my hand?’ And the Lord said to David, ‘Go up, for I will certainly give the Philistines into your hand.’” (II Samuel 5:19)
The Philistines were frequent Israeli foes. Over the years, David won battle victories against them repeatedly. And each time, the victory came as a result of David’s obedience. He continued turning to God, even though he had fought – and won – against the Philistines many times before.
Do you have a familiar enemy in your life? Debt, finances, business, your job, stress or even certain relationships challenging you over and over again?
The reality is, these “enemies” want you to feel helpless, like a victim of circumstance and not in control of your own life. The enemies in your life will come at you again and again, often times through the same path or in the same form! Just as David constantly faced the Philistines, likely you will meet the same foes in your life over and over. That’s life!
So, what do you do?
Look at your own life. When you have experienced success or victory in your life, do you get cocky? Do you forget to seek wise counsel from Him? Or do you continue seeking Him, like David?
David’s success and humility is very unusual. Most people develop an “I got this, I don’t need any help!” attitude and set themselves up to fail. They let God steer them to success and then try to take over. This leads to total destruction, pain, heartache, total loss, humiliation, leading you to keep starting over again until you pass this test! It’s NOT a fun road!
